Independent Living Skills Instructor
Location:
This role offers a unique blend of community-based and remote style work settings. Our instructors spend a significant portion of their time out in the community, directly engaging with our clients in their homes and other community settings in order to provide hands-on support and training. Training may occur in setting such as, but not limited to; clients home, medical offices, school campuses, public libraries, etc. This allows for a deep understanding of each client's environment and how to best support their overall independence goals. Additionally, remote style work options (such as ZOOM) are available for certain aspects of the job, depending upon the client's preference and/or choice.

Job Description:
We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Independent Living Skills Instructors. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to make a direct impact within the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. You will be responsible for providing personalized support and training in various areas of independent living, including but not limited to: money management training, personal health goals, employment, housing, health and safety, social skills development, etc.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop personalized learning plans to foster client independence.

Provide one-on-one instruction and support in various aspects of daily living.

Assist clients in developing social skills and community integration.

Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other service professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to natural client support.

Monitor and document client progress, adjusting learning plans as needed to ensure continued growth and development.

Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with developmental disabilities within the community.
Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in special education, psychology, social work, or a related field is a plus.

Must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Must have a reliable means of transportation.

Ability to pass a DOJ background check.

Drug Screening.

A good DMV driving record.
